Sugar-Free: It’s Possible

Hello folks…

I realize I fell off the wagon & stopped blogging about my sugar-free journey, however, I am happy to report that I was sugar-free for 23 straight days (minus a few Cliff bars).  Yep, this means I had no flavored coffee creamer (which I missed the most), no chocolate (2nd, on the most missed list), no cake, no cookies, nothing even dessert related.  It was a tough, challenging, struggle, but I made it.  I would say after the first couple of weeks, I really didn’t miss it, but when November 24th came about, I indulged in some coffee creamer.

Dave & I talked about how we felt, and we both agreed that we never felt bloated during this time, and we felt a whole lot better.  When Thanksgiving rolled around, I did enjoy my homemade cranberry sauce, but dessert wasn’t as satisfying to me.  Yes, the pumpkin cheesecake, pecan pineapple pie, and coconut & lemon patries tasted great, but perhaps, I wanted some chocolate.  Actually, probably not, since today I ate part of a Toblerone chocolate bar & it really didn’t do it for me.  I think I may have ruined myself (in a good way).  I think what will end up happening is that I’ll save one evening & have dessert for dinner with my good friend, Anne.  Gourmandise, a bakery is Salt Lake, looked scrumptious & looked like it was made just for that purpose.  ๐Ÿ™‚

One other noteworthy mention, I didn’t gain any weight over the holidays.  I was quite pleased with myself when I weighed in, considering I really haven’t made it to they gym consistently.  Could it be the sugar-free lifestyle?  Who knows?  What I do know is that I feel better, have more energy, don’t get hungry as much, and have a great support system at home for it.

I will be starting this all over again tomorrow.  Christmas Eve or Christmas is the goal.  I will succeed in not falling off the wagon again.  ๐Ÿ™‚  GO ME!
